The testing process of the bulldog illustration in various minimalistic styles and colours plus poster concept.

After a few trials with different versions, it was decided that the red background with the white stroke stood out the most. It also symbolically matched the ferocity of the bulldog and sends the message of aggression - an empowering, strong attitude needed when a fledging designer attends an AGDA event to face a barrage of critiques from the best of Perth-based Designers.

To maintain the elegant and minimalistic designer look typical of AGDA, the bulldog illustration was carefully crafted with Adobe Illustrator’s pen tool in different line widths, and finished off with a thin tapered line on both ends.

Create a show-stopping, powerful advertising campaign that emulates the AGDA style based on a famous quote on a bulldog.
The marketing materials for the AGDA Student Portfolio Review is one of my most powerful and attention-grabbing design project. It originally evolved from a poster challenge - to create an effective advertisement for AGDA based on a quote given (in this case, the bulldog quote from Abraham Lincoln “Hold on with a bulldog grip and chew and choke”).
The bulldog vector illustration jumps out at you from the background colour of angry bright red. Then you notice the interesting bulldog quote above which matches the aim of both the event and the bulldog theme. A variation of elegant typography ties together the entire look which helps convey the trendy and minimalistic style of AGDA.

The Bulldog AGDA poster is extremely effective when re-purposed for social media and other devices such as Facebook on the computer, and Instagram on the smart phone.
WHO IS AGDA?

Design stunning and highly ornate marketing artwork for a local music festival that will boost its appeal and ticket sales
This marketing collateral was created for a local Perth music festival called Rise Fest.
The graphic elements were highly complex and technically challenging with a lot of client requests to get right: a snow globe with black silhouettes of musicians inside, 3 spotlights shining down onto the globe, frozen tree branches, snowflakes, a visually impressive 3D title, and text of varying appearances.
The winter concept resulted in some amazing graphic illustrations which catapulted the image of Rise Fest and its quality to another whole new level, which made the client very satisfied with my design service.

Design elements of poster:
Utilising Adobe Illustrator’s many complex tools and effects to create a winter wonderland scene which includes the 3D Revolve for the snow globe, 3D Extrude and Bevel tool for the title, and Image Trace and Gaussian Blur for the snow branches. The addition of snowflakes and beautiful purple and blue gradients makes this all come together to create a spectacular wintery feast for the eyes.
Working with the client
Several rounds of intense feedback and revision was made with the Rise Fest client and their team over emails to reach this highly polished piece of marketing artwork, ready to impress and capture the public’s imagination of a winter wonderland music galore.

MAYLANDS STREET FESTIVAL
Marketing campaign
This recent client (LACE: Local Arts Community Events) is a non-profit organisation based in Maylands who requested a completely new rebrand of the Maylands Street Festival and its marketing visuals. This included a logo redesign, key artwork that represents Maylands (e.g. Giraffe Mural), and marketing materials such as posters, banners, social media (Facebook banner and posts), etc.
These design concepts shows a festive, fun, fresh and inviting look – capturing the spirit of Maylands as a vibrant, unique and eclectic community of busling local businesses.
